Make negation concrete, hands-on and fun! In “Which Is Not Fall?”, students look at three beautiful real-photo fall pictures on each page and answer the question, “Which one is NOT a ______?” For example, a page with two pumpkins and a group of apples asks, “Which one is not a pumpkin?” — and students place a red “not” X under the correct answer. My students just love these adapted books! And they are perfect for speech therapy sessions, special education students, and fall language units.

🎓 Educational Benefits: Targets negation (a key language goal that’s hard to teach concretely), builds fall vocabulary (apple, pumpkin, leaves, rake, sweater, acorn…), and develops categorization, attention to detail, and receptive/expressive language. The real photos support generalization to the real world — especially important for students with autism and any students that benefits from real photos.
