How WH question adapted books work
Each book asks a WH question (mostly what, who and where) on the page and gives students the answer choices as movable pieces. The student reads or listens, picks the piece that answers the question, and places it on the page. Because the answer is something they can see and touch, the book works for students who are still building language and who struggle with open-ended questions.
Books are themed (seasons, animals, community places and more), so the same skill shows up in familiar, motivating contexts. They print on regular paper, and most also come as interactive digital books that play on a tablet or computer.
Who uses them
Special education teachers use them at circle time, in small groups and in centers. Speech-language pathologists use them for WH question targets in 1:1 and group sessions, and families use them for practice at home. They are written for early learners and for students working on basic comprehension at any age.

What are WH questions?
WH questions are the questions that start with who, what, where, when and why (and often how). Answering them shows a student understands what they hear or read, and they are a common speech and language goal.
Which WH question should I start with?
Many teams begin with 'what' and 'who' because the answers are concrete (an object or a person), then move to 'where'. The books in this collection focus on those three; 'when' and 'why' need more abstract thinking and are not the focus here. Follow your student's IEP goals and current level.
Are these printable or digital?
Both. Every book is a printable PDF, and many also have an interactive digital edition students can play on an iPad, phone or computer.
