In a small group or one-on-one, the teacher or therapist works through each book as students build compound words with the matching interactive pieces. Two sets of pieces are included: Level 1 adds picture support (words + visuals), and Level 2 uses words only — so you can meet every student right where they are. Students working independently can move through the books in a literacy center or workstation.

After each book, students practice with the "clip stick" activities — building compound words on a paint stirrer using pieces attached to clothespins — then record the words they made on the recording sheet.
