Build inferencing and vocabulary skills with this interactive community helpers adapted book featuring real photos. Students use clues to figure out who each community helper is based on their job, features, or actions.

In this hands-on activity, students listen to simple riddles and use visual and language clues to identify each community helper. They then match the correct picture and turn the page to reveal the answer, reinforcing comprehension and keeping students actively engaged.

Sample Text:

"I see. I see.

Who can it be?

It's the person who works in a restaurant and cooks lots of delicious food...

(Students find the picture and turn the page to see the answer revealed.)

It's the chef!

That's right!

A chef works in a restaurant and cooks lots of delicious food."

After the students have worked through the book, there is an extension activity included where they can practice creating their own riddles. Students working independently may work through the book at a literacy center.
