Five Little Turkeys Adapted Song Book | Thanksgiving Counting | SLP SPED Autism

Here's a fun, seasonal, fall song for circle time! “Five Little Turkeys” is my turkey-themed twist on the classic “Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed,” and it’s as interactive and silly as it is FUN. As you sing and count down, students pull a movable turkey off each page to make him “bump his head” and fall off the bed — and match the number on every page. It’s hands-on and often keeps even the most reluctant students engaged. It is also a part of my Adapted Song Books for Circle Time bundle.

🎓 Educational Benefits: This book builds math AND language at the same time — students practice counting backward from 5, number matching, one-to-one correspondence, and the concept of “one less” (early subtraction) as each turkey tumbles off the bed. Set to a familiar, repetitive rhyme, those number concepts become memorable and fun, while the movable piece makes the counting concrete and hands-on — exactly what our early learners need.
