"Five Hungry Ghosts hung by the posts--
one dark and calm Halloween night.
In flew an owl, who let out a howl--
and gave 1 hungry ghost a fright!"
"Four Hungry Ghosts hung by the posts--
one dark and calm Halloween night.
A spider crawled by, just a little too high--
And gave 1 hungry ghost a fright!"
Our poor hungry ghosts! They keep getting "spooked" by Halloween noises and rumblings and flying away. But what happens when one thoughtful friend brings a Halloween treat for the ghosts to eat? Well they all come flying back, of course! :)
This fun and interactive Halloween Adapted Book focuses on identifing the numbers 1-5, basic counting skills and some Halloween vocabulary. A teacher or therapist reads along as the students follow along and match the number, count the ghosts and add an "action piece," to each page. There are also puppets included so that students can stand up and act out the rhyme--or even use them to sequence the story. There are many ways to adapt and enhance this adapted book to fit more of your students needs. (I give you those ideas inside the download.)
This book is packed with so much Halloween fun! I sure hope your students love it. :)
